Credit crunch or not, this season nothing stood in the way of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana to present a collection that was rarely short of ‘Modern Luxe‘. With velvet quilted dressed, constricting corsets, and tapestry-print chiffon dresses - the Fall 2015 D&G customer is heading off to the opera.Inspired by legendary soprano Maria Callas, the class, luxury, and sex appeal that the label is well know for was seen in the collection’s 50 main looks.
During New York Fashion Week, thigh grazing hemlines lead many to wonder if they were truly looking at a Fall collection or just slightly modified Spring/Summer. At Dolce & Gabbana the season's newly loved length was yet again present.
This time, done in a way that would instantly take the mind to luxurious winter. Rope belts, military frogged coats, and shape-forming corsets; it was no secret that the noted duo were inspired by the past.
To some, the frequent venturing of distant decades to produce a themed collection might seem repetitive and dull - though the sky-high platforms, jewel encrusted stockings, and even at one point jewel dipped jean, will be sure to capture your attention and more.
