Smart Shopping - Balmain Spring 2015 For Less

Monday, March 30, 2015

It’s about adding casual to evening wear - a cocktail version of the jean and t-shirt attitude”, Balmain designer Christophe Decarnin has so notably quoted in his interview with The New York Time’s Cathy Horyn. Only a few seasons into is new found fame at Balmain and a now numerous array of shows under his belt, Decarnin is proving to on the top of everyone’s list. From Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Paris’ Carine Roitfeld to Sarah Jessica Parker, the man now so famously know as the person to single handily revived the house of Balmain has dressed those with a true sense of quality and style.

Though it may be cliche to instantly call Decarnin’s designs Effortless chic, it may be the first and only words to come to mind when being left in awe. With crystal embellished pieces and studded ensembles, the phrase “you get what you pay for”, easily comes into play. But being how a what seems to be a slumping economy, today’s smart shopping isn’t to persistent in buying a $11,410 blazer (though sold out at Net-A-Porter) to pair with ripped jeans that sore past the $2,000 mark. While you may be longing or that Balmain Blazer or studded sandal, Christophe Decarnin’s same feeling of Effortless Luxury can still be applied to your ever day look for the fraction of the price.

Ladies: You should be on your hands and knees bowing to the brains of INSIDE MODE for bringing you this valuable information. For anyone who know a thing or two about a thing or two, Balmain pieces WILL max out your plastic, if you even have a limit to support the purchase. I love your choices for trying to achieve the Balmain look for a FRACTION (I must stress the word "fraction") of the price. The Marc by Marc jacket, the T by A.Wang tank, and the Pratt jeans are reasonably priced, whereas the Zara version of the crystal studded heels are a bit overpriced even at $169. I guess they can slap on a higher price on account of the heels being the closest thing to Balmain that some of us might get to own in these tough times.

I absolutely love what he said about his vision for the brand: "It’s about adding casual to evening wear - a cocktail version of the jean and t-shirt attitude". He literally took that statement and turned it out word for word on the runway.

P.S.Call Me Cat's comment: EXACTLY what I was talking about in my e-mail reply ;)

This is my favouuuuurite designer of the moment. But I don't see this changing anytime soon. He just gets 'it'. He knows what we want and he delivers, not unlike Mr Wang. xx

Balmain's collection is one of those few that I really liked lately. It had so many new ideas!
The jacket is brilliant, but unfortunately, if you're not called C. Roitfeld, you obviously won't get one in the near future. The shoes...well, I don't think they need any further comments from me, except for: I _love_ them!
Thanks for this amazing post!

Great roundup - although I'm not the biggest fan of the 80s shoulderpads trend that's going around (it doesn't really flatter the majority of people), I love how Balmain has led the charge. And those shoes are to die for - I can see lots of knock-offs already!

Most overhyped collection since Wang. I don't understand why everyone is getting their la perlas in a twist over glorified salvation army finds.

Hi!
Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog!
Although nothing beats the real deal, these cheap options are a very nice alternative! Also, on ebay there are many cool band jackets (if you search for a while)
I will add you to my favourites too, very nice blog :)!

I'm just about to indulge into your latest post, but I though I'd let you know that LOVE FOR LABELS #5 Answers are now posted. I don't want to be rude and post the link, but I don't want you to scramble around my blog in search for it lol (http://kingchic.wordpress.com/2015/03/26/love-for-labels-5/)

omg the balmain jeans rip-offs are very very nice actually! The SS 09 Balmain coats were to die for, as were the studded shoes!
