Stefano Pilati does it again. For Fall 2015, the famed Yves Saint Laurent designer did what he does best. Embracing sensuality, power, and the female form - all without the slightest hint of vulgarity. As recycled as the idea of masculinity meets femininity is, the collection consisting of 28 was crafted to perfection. Only such that can truly capture the YSL woman that we have all come to know and love, purely thought up by Mr. Pilati.
Opening the show with a series of leather jackets all ranging in length, the first thought that played through out my mind was - Yves Saint Laurent does bondage. From leather pants, to leather jumpsuits, and even a leather swimsuit that featured a zipper on front, nothing rang more true to the idea of rebellious luxury.
Pin-striped pieces and red lips, a timeless sultry and elegant woman came alive on the Parisian runway. Tailored to perfection, with the precise attention to detail as menswear, Pilati some how managed to create a soft and delicate view of menswear made for women. But, still found a magical way to provide the power and confidence that women need in such trying times.
Though the not too pleasant economy is on everyone’s mind, the sky-high platforms shown, will without doubt become the season’s most desired shoe.
