Christian Dior Fall 2015 Couture

Monday, July 06, 2015

the looks of Dior's latest couture presentation, Alexander McQueen wasn't the only designer to recycle an idea or two, as of late. Paying homage to Christian Dior himself, John Galliano once again revamps "the new look" . The once lengthy skirts that cut off at center thigh now get replaced with sheer numbers attached to garters, and other forms of hosiery. Leaving for little to the imagination, corseted tops and chic transparencies instantly take the mind to a place of elegant darkness. Yet evoking a new lighter feel to Fall's usual heavy fabrics.

Losing the noted platforms always associated with a collection displayed by Galliano, sandals with straps made to look like that of the one's on garters or even lingerie, now play the part of lust worthy shoe. As tradition, the show closed with an endless array of Oscar worthy gowns. Much like last season, boned and corseted for much support. Though this time making woman's delicately and power much noted. An aspect that will certainly please the house's Couture Clientele.

Though I've seen these kinds of looks before, still, they are very creative, They are couture, you know- unlike Alexis Mabille's Fall 2015 Couture Collection. That was disappointing!

@Bahrain Fashion - I couldn't have said it better. The ideas weren't the most original, but the details, shapes, and quality is like no other. The Alexis Mabille would make an ok ready-to-wear collection, but I don't see couture.

I think being able to see a little bit of stocking or suspender through a sheer dress or a skirt is fine, although it could be done a little more subtly than portayed here by Galliano. In fact, a great post-Madonna idea. The skirtless ones, however, are just going to ladder their stockings!
