Three episodes have passed since the sixth season of Project Runway premiered. At this point on, judgments about the show's new found fame on Lifetime have already been made. After a year in transition from it's starting point at Bravo, the show that carved a path for other design shows such as The Fashion Show, Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, Nina Garcia, and Michael Kors return to decide the fate of 16 designers hoping to make it big.
In the end taking home the grand prize of an editorial feature in an upcoming issue of Marie Claire magazine, a $100,000 cash prize from L’Oreal Paris to start a fashion line and a trip to Paris furnished by Evian.
When Bravo's The Fashion Show first premiered a few months ago, you could have easily called me skeptical. After watching a few more episodes and almost even getting addicted, after the show wrapped and Anna McCraney was crowned the winner, all there was left to do was wait for the new season of Project Runway
Going into the much hyped new season of Project Runway, thoughts of what the show would be like now that they have competition with a new design show on it's hands played all throughout my mind.
After the first episode of it's new season aired, I must admit that I was a little disappointed. Why? It was exactly the same as it was before. It was wise decision to stick to what drew viewers in the first time around, but it wasn't as spectacular as I imagined it would be. Yet, somehow still doesn't keep me from tuning in. Counting Lindsay Lohan, Monique Lhuillier, and now Rachel Bilson, as guest judges - if the same old-same old has got you down, they give you all the more reason to tune in.
It also doesn't hurt that contestant Logan Neitzel isn't too hard on the eyes (I'm just saying...).
On last nights episode in which the designers get paired up in teams and create two looks, Rachel Bilson & Max Azria make their judging debut? With Heidi decked out in Herve Leger by Max Azria Fall 2008 (this dress), Rachel keeps it simple and chic in a white ruffled top and black shirt. Finishing off her look with one of the many lace stockings seen on the Chanel Fall 2008 runway. Since she has been spotted out before in the very same Chanel Fall 08 collection, I wouldn't call it a surprise. Though it's a surefire way to make a statement.
If your like me, your still wondering how will the people at Project Runway come up with new challenges, when The Fashion Show is hot on your (coat)tail.
Same format, different network, new talent - What is your thought on the season of Project Runway?
